Drawing inspiration from musicians from the country genre like Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks (now the Chicks) Swift crafted original songs that were a reflection of her own experiences of being a tween and feeling alienated. At the age of 13, Swift's parents decided to sell their property in Pennsylvania and moved to Hendersonville Tennessee so she could dedicate more time to courting country labels near Nashville.
